Meet your Governors

Our Council of Governors represents the interests of members and partner organisations in the local health economy. The majority of governors are elected by a membership of local people, patients and staff and through the Council, members have a say in how the trust operates.

I am a Camden resident and have a long association with UCL and UCLH. Using my experience as a teacher, researcher, and part-time Camden GP I hope to make a useful contribution to future developments at UCLH in patient care, particularly working across professional boundaries which involve patients moving into different care settings. I shall endeavour to ensure that the patient voice from the multiplicity of sources in London is heard and listened to at all levels within the organisation.

Pam Peers
Public governor

Term: 01/01/2021 – 31/12/2023

Kết quả xổ số Quảng NamI am proud to have been elected as a public governor of the UCLH Trust, having lived close to the hospital for more than 15 years and having used a range of outpatient and inpatient services. I very much welcome the opportunity to apply my enthusiasm, skills and experience to the work of the Trust.

My work experience includes developing and managing community access programmes in colleges and universities in multi-racial inner-city areas of London and other cities. I am currently a lay examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons.

Kết quả xổ số Quảng NamAs a governor, I am interested in encouraging the involvement of under-represented sections of the community in decisions about their health care. I will work with the Council of Governors, patient groups and community organisations to try to ensure that the patient voice is heard in the planning and delivery of services.

I have lived in Islington all my life, and consequently, frequently used UCLH services in connection with a wide variety of health issues.

Kết quả xổ số Quảng NamAs a Research Scientist (Crystallographer) I fully appreciate the value of the research undertaken within UCLH and intend to champion its continuous advancement as a foremost priority.

Kết quả xổ số Quảng NamCurrently, my main concerns are related to problems associated with The Patient Experience, concerning primarily, appointments; waiting times; and subsequent treatment satisfaction.

Kết quả xổ số Quảng NamHaving previously served for many years as a Governor at the Whittington Hospital, I am acutely aware of services that often need careful scrutiny, and will draw upon past experience in order to maximise positive satisfactory levels in these vulnerable areas.

I will also be drawing upon many years of both public housing and legal training, in order to monitor UCLH’s future proposals in relation to contracts; purchasing; and employment issues.

My son was born at UCLH in 2014 and I have always been keen to draw on the experience to help further improve other parent’s experiences. However, it was my inpatient stay in January 2018 that spurred me to stand as a Governor. Although I no longer practice, I am a qualified medical doctor and I also have over 20 years of experience as a senior analyst in the healthcare industry. Being elected as a UCLH Governor is a huge privilege and I will work passionately and constructively with staff and the other governors for the benefit of patients.

Having been both a patient and a carer in recent years, I would like to use this experience to try to improve things for others. I believe patient feedback can contribute to the Trust’s goal of delivering top-quality care, and that patients’ complaints should be dealt with efficiently and considerately.

Since 2014, I have volunteered as a patient representative on the UCLH Clinical Integration Programme Board which has given me a good understanding of the complex task of coordinating healthcare and social care and the importance of clear and timely communication between patients, GPs and hospitals.

Kết quả xổ số Quảng NamMy other interests include:

  • care of the elderly
  • mental health
  • research and education.

Kết quả xổ số Quảng NamI have lived in Islington for 30 years and am a scientist by training. My career in publishing has given me valuable experience in questioning senior executives and specialists and getting them to explain things in plain English.

I am 67 years of age and I have lived in London since I was a student and in Islington since 1985. Now retired, I spent my career in marketing and as a business adviser. In 2017 I was diagnosed with prostate cancer and I am now coming to what I hope will be the end of my treatment. Although this was first class and the clinical staff were wonderful, I could not help but see areas along my pathway that could have been improved. I hope my role as patient governor will help to address these issues.

Kết quả xổ số Quảng NamI am a registered nurse, midwife and educator, with experience in many different areas of nursing. I have worked on the Neonatal Unit in the EGA Wing since 1996, as a Neonatal Sister and Nurse Educator. My experience has given me an awareness of many of the challenges and pressures that are important to staff, patients and visitors. I have, together with my husband and children, also been a patient at UCLH. It is a very different experience from being a care provider. I feel seeing both sides of our work further helps me to understand our patients and their families.
