Occupational therapists work with people to help them find ways to do the activities (occupations) that are important to them, but which they find difficult because of their illness, impairment or disability.

At this Hospital the occupational therapist specialises in teaching self-help strategies to enable the person to take part in activities whilst living with fatigue.

Kết quả xổ số Quảng NamYou will be referred into the occupational therapy service by your doctor here at the Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine if they feel it would be beneficial as part of your overall care.

We do not accept external referrals for occupational therapy.

Occupational therapists are registered healthcare professionals and are accountable to the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

The occupational therapist will see you for an assessment appointment at which you will decide whether you wish to proceed with occupational therapy. Appointments are approximately 40 minutes.

You will be taught a number of self-help strategies to trial at home and which you will then be expected to discuss at follow up. Here are some examples of the types of techniques we can use:

  • Learning to balance activities throughout the week
  • Learning to set relevant and achievable goals
  • Understanding activity analysis and how it can help you engage in a range of activities
  • Understanding the therapeutic value of restful activities.
